Fergus is an experienced B2B media business leader who has spent over 15 years in the world of media, subscriptions, and events. He has a strong track record as a hands-on director with responsibility for commercial activities, memberships, subscriptions, publishing and events brands. He has developed business across multiple industry sectors in Europe, North America, and APAC.
Fergus led two major profit centres at Informa, and was responsible for The Drum’s global expansion in his most recent role as Group Commercial Director. He works with Collingwood Advisory’s clients on scaleup, sales strategy, and key product development.
Jenefer Thoroughgood, CPO and Senior Adviser, Collingwood Advisory
Jenefer is an expert in engaging customers to develop great products. She has over 20 years’ experience in digital media and SaaS.
Jenefer’s career spans roles in sales, marketing, product ownership, editorial and customer insight. She held multiple roles at Informa including Managing Editor of Scrip Publishing, Publisher of Agrow and Research & Development Director, and subsequently joined Zapnito as Chief Product & Customer Officer. Jenefer acts as Collingwood Advisory’s Chief Product Officer, and Senior Adviser specialising in customer insights and product development.
Rebecca King, CMO and Senior Adviser, Collingwood Advisory
Rebecca has over 17 years’ experience in global B2B media as a marketing and project management leader.
She works with clients to develop creative marketing solutions and advises on how to build, strengthen and future-proof marketing strategies and functions. Her expertise lies in driving sales, transforming teams, and embedding tracking and analysis to inform data-driven decision-making.
Rebecca was previously Group Marketing Director at Terrapinn, where she spent 11 years and was responsible for marketing to multiple sectors in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and APAC. Rebecca is Collingwood Advisory’s CMO and works with our clients as a ‘virtual CMO’.
Piers is an entrepreneur and investor who has built and sold his own media businesses, and who has worked on M&A for major buyers, both as CEO and consultant.
Piers sold his first exhibition business, Rock Media, to Imago Group in 2006. As CEO of Clarion Conferences, he was involved in the sale of Clarion to VSS in 2008. More recently, he sold Tank World Expo to ArtexisEasyfairs, led the sale of TowerXchange to Euromoney and sold SmartRail World to DVV Media International.
As Chairman and shareholder with GFC Media Group, Global Transport Forum, Bio-Based World and World Retail Insights, he works on strategy, resourcing, sales maximisation and value creation in conferences, exhibitions, digital communities and intelligence reports, and co-hosts London’s Media Entrepreneur Meetups.
